The International Human Rights Commission – IHRC Nigeria Office, has reaffirmed its commitment to impartiality, equality and the protection of human rights for all Nigerians.
In a statement released today, Country Director Ambassador Abdullahi Bakoji Adamu said the organization is non-partisan and non-discriminatory, and that its work is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
He explained that IHRC Nigeria only acts on matters where formal complaints are received, and that its membership reflects the country’s ethnic, religious and regional diversity.
The Commission urged the public not to mistake its silence on any issue for bias, noting that intervention can only happen when credible complaints are brought forward.
IHRC Nigeria says it remains dedicated to justice, fairness and the promotion of human rights without discrimination.
